Elon Musk's X Will Begin Imposing A $1 Fee For Unverified Users To Post On The Platform.

The "anti-bot" initiative, launching initially in two nations, represents Musk's most recent strategy in his ongoing battle against spam accounts.

Elon Musk is preparing to make more sweeping changes to X

This week, X revealed that users accessing the platform via web browsers in New Zealand and the Philippines will now encounter the "Not a Bot" subscription model. Under this new system, non-premium subscribers will incur a $1 fee for posting on the platform.

Users who opt to accept the $1 policy can retain full access to their accounts with all current features and functionalities. On the other hand, declining the fee will result in an account transition to "view-only" mode, limiting interactions to reading posts, watching videos, and following accounts, with no posting or re-posting options available.
